Tower of Dawn by Sarah J. Maas

Tower of Dawn (Throne of Glass, #6)

Okay, I  just want to start off saying that I LOVE this series. So, I was excited for this book until I realized that it was a bit like a insanely long novella. This book tags along with Empire of Storms. So, you get to the same ending as when we left off with our beloved Aelin.

Anyways, this book was much slower for me. I had a harder time to get into it. The first half of it was really slow. Basically, most of the first half was about the healing process of Chaol and his budding relationship with Yrene. The action doesn’t really happen until the second half of the book and that’s when I really found my groove. I couldn’t put it down because you start to see all these pieces come together.

I really liked the addition of the new supporting characters. I do feel like I’m getting a Game of Thrones vibe with all the characters I have to keep track of! Anyways, I really liked Nesyrn much more in this book and her relationship with the Prince. Honestly, I would have preferred this book more, if it was more about her and her new group and the Ruk’s. They were pretty awesome.

This book was just way too long and it could have been cut in half, for sure. I love this series so much and the last 1/3 of the book really made up for the rest. I was between 3 and 4 stars and I went with 4 because of my love for the overall story.
