Book Blogger Hop
This is a weekly meme hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer.
Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on a Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.
27th – May 3rd- Have you ever thought of writing a respectful, but angry letter to an author to ask them WHY they killed off one of your favorite characters in a novel? (submitted by Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books)
Honestly, I have never thought of this! Now, I kind of want to. One that comes to mind, mostly because I just talked about it in a book tag… is Primrose! Ugh! The death of Primrose (The Hunger Games) really got me. There’s others too but this one is fresh in my mind today. I’m curious if anyone has ever written an author and received a response. Nowadays, with social media, I would think it would be easier to reach an author.
What about you??
Primrose’s death was utterly unnecessary, the entire ending of that trilogy felt rushed to me. It annoyed me as I enjoyed those books and probably expected something else. I’m all for dispatching characters (GoT fan) but that one felt a bit off. Rant over now… 😂

Totally agree!! I really disliked the third book. It was all so rushed! Katniss wakes up and most of the war was over. Nope. Don’t buy that! I also love GoT!!! No one is ever safe! Jon 🙏🏼

Prim’s death was super sad, and while I’d be totally down for ranting about it to friends and such, I don’t think I’d feel the need to rant at the author. I just think it seems rude I guess.
Have a great weekend.

Well I don’t think I ever would either but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting to know the reasoning. It was an unnecessary death, IMO.
Thanks! You too!

I haven’t actually read THG (I know, I know) but I’m hoping to get around to it soon. I know that a lot of people were upset about Primrose’s death and I can totally get that. I’ve never written to an author either, though I don’t think I would as I don’t feel it’d be my place to say. But I’m sure that people have and, with social media, it’s so much easier to interact and talk to authors on a casual basis.
Feel free to check out my Book Blogger Hop answer if you wish! 🙂
