April was a CRAZY busy month for me. I still managed to read 15 books! I don’t even know how. The first week of April, I had surgery. The second weekend of April, my Godson arrived. I then spent the next week with my brother, his g/f and baby Emmett. My husband went to Chicago for a bachelor party and it’s just been us go, go, go. Anyways, here is my wrap up! As always, I have reviews for all of these on my blog!
I’ve read 15 books for a total of 5,298 pages!
I also got 7 books checked off my A to Z reading challenge!!
Books Read:
Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young (e-ARC)–Β 5/5 stars! I really enjoyed this book and was pleasantly surprised by it! Also, it’s a standalone novel!
Nowhere Girls by Amy Reed (library copy)– 4/5 stars~ This book was a gem. I haven’t really heard many people talking about it. It covers some really serious issues and it’s a bit more vulgar. It’s diverse and a great book!
The Fragile Ordinary by Samantha Young (e-ARC)– 4/5 stars~ I have read a couple of her adult books. I didn’t know that she wrote YA but once I saw it, I had to have it. I’m really enjoyed this.
The Wicked Deep by Shea Ernshaw (library copy)– 3/5 stars~ I have seen so many people rave about this. It was part of one of my online book clubs this month. I liked this book but I didn’t love it. I’m definitely in the minority with my opinion.
Nice Try, Jane Sinner by Lianne Oelke (library copy)– 5/5 stars! I loved this book! Another book that I don’t see talked about much. This book was so good. If you are looking for a fun, drama filled, light read then pick this up!
Warcross by Marie Lu (library copy)– 4/5 stars~ This definitely has a very fascinating world and I cannot wait to see what comes next!
An American Marriage by Tayari Jones (library copy)– 3.5/5 stars~ This was a tough read. Not because it was bad but because of the material. It was good but I had my issues with it.
Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller (library copy)– 3.5/5 stars~ I was interested in this story but and I thought this book was just okay. I enjoyed the read, for the most part but I had my issues with it.
Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. Choi (library copy)– 5/5 stars! I LOVED this book. It’s my favorite read of the year, so far. I related to this book so much. Not really in the romance area but other details in this book!
Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee (library copy)– 4/5 stars~ This was a fun ride! I loved all the characters so very much. I can’t wait for the next book.
To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo (library copy)– 4/5 stars~ This a dark and brutal retelling of, The Little Mermaid. It’s definitely a quick read and I was pleasantly surprised.
The Bird and the Blade by Megan Bannen (e-ARC)– 4/5 stars~Β This book does not have a happy ending but it is SO worth it. It’s a retelling of a play (Turandot), which I didn’t know anything about. This is a great book!
Royals by Rachel Hawkins (e-ARC)– 3.5/5 stars~ This was a really quick read. It was light and fun, so a great book to break up some of the heavy stuff.
Daughter of the Siren Queen by Tricia Levenseller (library copy)– 4.5/5 stars~ I loved this book so much more than the first book. This book was so much more interesting and there was a lot more Siren in it. I thought this was a big improvement on the first book!
Geekerella by Ashley Poston (e-ARC)– 5/5 stars. I was seeing this everywhere and decided to request an ARC. Apparently, this was the month for retellings. I really enjoyed this book. It was cute and fun. I loved all the little influences from Cinderella!
That’s a wrap! I also bought some books because of sales. I did not get a chance to get any photos yet because of the busy, crazy schedule!
What did your month end up being?! I would love to know!
