Three things about me:

I have 8 penpals! Last summer, I thought the idea of a penpal was awesome. In one of my planner (The Happy Planner) groups, someone posted how they were keeping track of sent and received penpal letters. Apparently, there’s a whole world on instagram! You post and use certain tags and it’s like an advertisement. Obviously, I had to do my stalking before accepting. I had a VERY hard time saying no, so ended up with 8 over the couple of months my post was up. I have become amazing friends with 4-5 of them. I really hope I get to meet some of them one day! Do you have any penpals?

I’m retired at the young age of 31. LOL! I worked at a library for almost 5 years. I was getting really sick and my husband kept telling me to quit my job. I decided that for my health it was best. We were also starting fertility and I wanted to be, as stress free as I could.  I started fertility on December 1, 2017 and my last work day was on December 2, 2017! My health is better and I have loved not working. I like to keep very busy and my husband didn’t think I would last a month jobless. I am now over the half a year mark and it’s gone so fast. There has been a lot of crazy go on, so that helps. I know that I’m fortunate enough to be able to do so. I do not take it for granted. I did have a hard time saying, “housewife.” Maybe, I should say “blogger.” lol! I still haven’t done nearly as many as the things I wanted to. Life is crazy and my days/weeks go so fast.

I love shows on Broadway. I never thought it would be my thing. A few years ago, my husband took me to see Phantom of the Opera and I was hooked. We go to one a year, at least. We are lucky enough to have an amazing Broadway season every year. Plus, my husband gets us good tickets through work!  We saw Wicked this last season. It was SO good. This next season we are seeing Rent, I think. Hamilton is coming but I’m not about spending almost $400 for a pair of tickets.

My questions from Vera:

What would your ideal day look like?

It kind of happens regularly, now that I’m a housewife. I get to spend the day doing the things I love (most days), when I’m not adulting. I get to read/craft of blog. Then I cook dinner to enjoy with the husband. We spend the evening together, usually watching some of our shows/Netflix.

What’s on your bucket list this year?

I actually got some of my bucket list thing done this year! I went on a cruise and donated my hair to Wigs for Kids. Not much else for the end of the year, except for…

Being a mom. I don’t know that it will happen. I’m trying not to lose hope in this fertility journey. It’s been rough, when the meds don’t work and I have to start all over again. Like yesterday… it all begins again. So, we will see.

If you could master one new skill, what would it be?

I would love to master, hand-lettering! I’m so horrible at it but I just need to put in the practice. I don’t know when, I’m always reading. haha

Who’s your biggest hero?

Honestly, it has to go to my husband. We have been through so much. We just celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary (7/10)! We have been together for 13.5 years, since Sr. year of High School. We went to a different college for 3.5 out of 4 years. We were graduating in the recession and couldn’t find jobs. We ended up in retail, it was awful. We got married, had a rough go, financially. I mean, it’s retail! A year later, he got his amazing job offer. It was finally what he went to school for! A year later, he had to have open heart surgery. We had to go to New York, from Ohio, for this particular surgery. We have been trying for a baby for over 5 years. It’s been so hard and a lot of people don’t realize how hard it can be. All the while, he’s been taking 6 months out of the year to study for exams. When I mean he takes that time, he does it every night and on weekends. I don’t see him much. It’s a stress for both of us. Thankfully, I have been blessed the most amazing husband. He’s always positive, has a great attitude, rubs my back like every night, is so driven at work, he’s my rock and my best friend. He brings me up when I’m down. He’s also pushed me to quit my job. He’s pretty much favorite person and my hero. ❤ I know, this got really gushy! Sorry, not sorry! lol

If you could be an animal instead, which one would it be?

An elephant. They are majestic and I love them! ❤

  3. What is your favorite time of day?

  5. Do you send out Christmas cards? (weird question)

  1. What a lovely post Leslie, I actually cried reading it. 💕 I’m crossing all my fingers for you, I have many friends that have gone through this and I know it’s hard and heart breaking. I’m so happy for you having such an amazing support in your husband. ❤️❤️❤️

Those pen pals are so cool! I had a pen pal in high school when I was learning English, she was from Ohio and I eagerly anticipated her letters every month. There’s something lovely and nostalgic about waiting for a hand written letter. 😊

    Loved your answers. ✨✨✨

    • Awww, thank you! <3<3<3 It means a lot! It definitely is hard and some days are worse than others. It would be much harder, if I didn't have Chris, to go through it with!

Yes, it is really fun getting a letter in the mail. Even though, it takes forever sometimes. haha! Snail mail is real. Hey, I'm from Ohio! haha.

    • I hear you. I can’t believe how expensive they are! We usually get discount tickets for the shows, each season. Well.. for Hamilton they are doing a lottery and if you sign up, you have to buy, if you win. They have two different prices and you can’t choose. Wayyyy too expensive! I could see like 3 other shows or pay an ultrasound! ((((I relate all money to ultrasounds now, since I have to do a couple a month, LOL))))

      • I’ve never done the ticket lottery thing, but I do know one family that went and I know they paid over a thousand dollars for their tickets. It’s insane. I mean, I really want to see it, but it’s INSANE.

Also, I definitely hear you about the ultrasound thing! I work in a hospital and the cost of that stuff is crazy.

  3. I absolutely loved reading your answers! Last year my husband and I found out that we are unable to have children of our own, and are currently in the process of adoption. It is so hard to struggle with fertility issues, especially when many people around you don’t really understand the myriad struggles that go along with it. It is so good that you have such a strong relationship with your husband, and that you can lean on each other during this experience, which is so important! You are so strong, and I applaud your positive attitude!! I will definitely be keeping you in my thoughts!! ❤️

    • Thank you! I am sorry to hear that! I applaud you for adopting! It’s something that we will do, if we can’t have any on our own. I know that’s also a tough journey but it will be worth it! I’ll be keeping you in my thoughts too! It is very hard and people who don’t have to struggle, can never really understand what it’s like! Yes, I have an amazing husband, I am a lucky girl! Just trying to take it a day at a time. Some days are much harder than others. Thank you, for your words! It was needed today ❤️❤️
