Book Blogger Hop 7/13-7/19

This is a weekly meme  hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer.

Each week the hop will start on a Friday and end on a Thursday. There will be a weekly prompt featuring a book related question. The hop’s purpose is to give bloggers a chance to follow other blogs, learn about new books, befriend other bloggers, and receive new followers to your own blog.

13th – 19th – Does a cluttered blog have you not returning? By cluttered I mean too many columns, small type, too many photos, difficult to follow, etc.  (submitted by Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews)

My Answer:

Honestly, not really. My favorite way to read blog posts is through my WordPress reader. Most of them I just click on and it opens up their posts. So, as long as there are quality and interesting posts, it doesn’t matter to me.

On the other hand, if I’m jumping blogs on a weekly meme and there’s so much going on I find it a deterrent. I really don’t like going to a blog and instantly have to start clicking on X’s on random boxes that pop up. Whether it’s ads they use or a subscription link. If I like your blog, I’ll subscribe. It’s as easy as that!

  1. I’ve never been on a blog with pop ups but that would be super annoying! And I would be worried about spam and viruses and stuff!

There are a couple of blogs that I follow that I really hate their blog set up and they are just too busy and annoying but I sill follow them if they have good posts! The only ones I haven’t followed based on aesthetics are when the color scheme makes it hard to read the posts.

    • Yeah, it’s usually pop ups for me to sign up for their email list or to subscribe. It’s the quickest way for me to never do either thing! It’s just annoying.

Content is so much more important but there are times when there’s a lot going on and it distracts.
