I did pretty good in July! I think it’s nice to take a few weeks off every now and again. I was pretty out of it most of the month, so we stayed home a lot. It was nice and gave me time to get caught up on reading and chores. As always, I will link my reviews, if you want to see it in depth!
I read 19 books for total of 7,366 pages!!
I got 3 books (P, Q, & V) checked off my AtoZ reading challenge! I only have I, J, X, Y & Z left. Any recommendations would be great!
I was tagged several times this month: I Spy Book Tag, Behind the Screen: A Book Blogger Tag, Book Tag: Game On- You Name it and Twenty Questions Tag. Thank you all!!! I love tags. 🙂
I was nominated for a few awards too: The Sunshine Blogger Award #3, Mystery Blogger Award #2, Unique Blogger Award and The Sunshine Blogger Award #4. Thank you SO SO much to all the amazing blogs that have tagged or nominated me! ❤
I will also be participating in Summer 2018 Comment Challenge for August, which is hosted by Lonna @ FLYLēF and Alicia @ A Kernel of Nonsense.
My partner is, LA LA In The Library and we are doing 10+ comments! I’m really excited to get to know her and her blog!! I’ve never done anything like this before and wanted to try something new. 🙂
BOOKS READ:
Kiss of the Royal by Lindsey Duga (e-ARC)– 3/5 stars. This was part of a blog tour I was on. I thought this book was just okay. I liked the blog tour, since that’s where I had to put my review.
Frozen Tides by Morgan Rhodes (my copy)– 4/5 stars. I have a love/hate relationship with this series. I think it’s good if you want a guilty pleasure type of read. I finally decided to finish the series and I binge read it. I have a review for books 3-6 in one. So, I’ll only add it here.
Crystal Storm by Morgan Rhodes (library copy)– 3/5 stars. Ditto to what is above.
Nevernight by Jay Kristoff (my copy)– 5/5 stars! I loved this book and I highly recommend it. Especially, if you want to read something different! This was also a buddy read for me with Sara @ The Bibliophagist
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab (my copy)- 4/5 stars! This is such a great book. I really enjoyed this one and it was also a buddy read. Thanks to Brittany @ Perfectly Tolerable ! We also continued the series and are almost finished with book three!
Immoral Reighn by Morgan Rhodes (library copy)– 3/5 stars. Ditto from the top. lol.
Dread Nation by Justina Ireland (library copy)– 4/5 stars. I was pleasantly surprised with this one. I really enjoyed it, even with the zombies. haha.
Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff (my copy)– 5/5 stars! I seriously wish I didn’t have to wait so long for the last book. I love this series. Thanks to Sara, for buddy reading this one too!
Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake (my copy)– 3/5 stars. I had a hard time with this one. This was actually my second attempt. I’m glad that I suffered through because it got better in the next book.
One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake (library copy)– 4/5 stars. This book was a big improvement to the first. It was like a different author. haha. I hope that the next book is more like this one.
When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon (library copy)– 3/5 stars. Oh man, I just did not like this one. I thought that Rishi was good and the story was cute but I just didn’t like Dimple! It was for book club, so I had to push through.
Queens of Fennbirn by Kendare Blake (library copy)– 4/5 stars. I really enjoyed the second story in this book. I really wished that it was all about The Oracle Queen.
The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang (my copy)– 4/5 stars. This was my first graphic novel and I loved it! Such a cute story.
Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian (library copy)– 4/5 stars. I really liked this book. It’s really dark and not the fantasy is like others but felt different.
A Gathering of Shadows by V.E. Schwab (my copy)– 4/5 stars. This book was good. A littler slower then the first but still a great read!! I also buddy read this one with Brittany.
Sadie by Courtney Summers (ARC)– 4/5 stars. This was a different read for me and I really enjoyed it. I STILL haven’t decided how I feel about the ending. haha.
Vicious by V.E. Schwab (library copy)– 4/5 stars. I am a huge fan of V.E. Schwab! I’ve read a lot of her books this month and she has a great writing style.
Aru Shah and the End of Time by Roshani Chokshi (library copy)– 3/5 stars. I think I had too high of expectations because this one let me down. Not what I was expecting at all.
The Rogue Queen by Emily R. King (my e-book)– 3/5 stars. I just finished this today. FINALLY! I am really hoping the last book is so much better. The love triangle was horrible in this book. I don’t even like the guy that she ends up picking. I do not have a review for this one, since I just finished it!
Book Hauls:
I didn’t buy many books. I only had one bookoutlet order and I just got a couple books at Half Price Books. It was a slow book month for me! I’m too lazy to go round them up and take a photo, so stock photos will have to do.
From HPB:
The Shatter Me series books and A Court of Thorns and Roses I have already read. They were just to fill in my series sets. Not a big month for book buying but I got some great ones!
I think I’ve had a great month! I got almost all of the books on my July TBR list read and that excites me! I believe I had about 13 books on there and only didn’t get to 2 of them. I did add others though because I’ve read 19. I’m just going to add those onto my August TBR! I hope to get that up soon too. I hope you all had an amazing month! How did your month end up??
It looks like you had a really great reading month! I still need to read When Dimple Met Rishi, and I’ve heard so many good things about The Prince and the Dressmaker. I’ll have to get to that one soon, too! ☺️

Wow, you’ve read so much this month! I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump recently so I haven’t read any books this month… 🙈😅

Yeah, I did… it’s okay!! It’s summer and it can be hard to read. Usually, I’m so busy but this summer we have made it a point to stay home some! Maybe next month 🙂

Sabaa Tahir recommended them when I did a meet and greet with her! I saw them on bookoutlet and got them. I won’t read them until closer to the last book release. I’m ready! 🙂

The one thing I will warn you about is that the first half of both books is a lot of set up and details about early 1800s life in England. But I found it all really fascinating and added a lot to the story!

I’m so glad you read and loved The Prince and the Dressmaker!! I love that one so much! And I’m bummed to hear you weren’t a fan of When Dimple Met Rishi. That has been on my TBR for a while, but I’ve been putting it off…

Yeah, I was too. It was a book club book and I probably would have DNF it otherwise. I struggled and it seemed to be the consensus at book club too.
