Netgalley Book Tag!

Thank you, Sara for tagging me! I haven’t seen this one around and I’m excited to do it! 🙂

★ RULES

  • Link back to the tag’s creator: Kourtni at Kourtni Reads
  • Thank and link back to the person who tagged you.
  • Answer the questions the best you can. If you don’t use NetGalley, you can substitute other sites or places where you get books!
  • Tag a few people to do this too!

★ AUTO-APPROVED: WHO’S ONE AUTHOR WHOSE BOOKS YOU AUTOMATICALLY WANT TO READ, REGARDLESS OF WHAT THEY ARE ABOUT?

One author that I do get auto-approved for is Fredrik Backman! I usually get an email with a link to get it from Netgalley. If not, I send them an email and they approve me. 🙂 I do wish I could be auto-approved for other authors though. I have a hard time getting approved for popular books on Netgalley. Not sure why, I have a great feedback ratio!

  • Liane Moriarty
  • Marie Lu
  • Holly Black
  • V.E. Schwab
  • So many others!

★ REQUEST: WHAT MAKES YOU WANT TO REQUEST A BOOK ON NETGALLEY?

I used to just request whatever looked a little bit interesting. I was trying to get my feedback score up. Then I found I didn’t like a lot of those books and it led to some reading slumps. I have one more that I currently have two more then I’ll be all caught up! Now, I’m more selective about books. It has to be on my radar, my TBR or an author I know. Most of the times, I don’t get approved for those though. :-/

★ FEEDBACK RATIO: DO YOU REVIEW EVERY BOOK YOU READ? IF NOT, HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHAT BOOKS TO REVIEW?

Yes, I always do. Even if I don’t like the book. I shouldn’t request books if I don’t intend to review them.

★ BADGES: IF YOU COULD CREATE ONE BADGE TO DISPLAY ON YOUR BLOG, WHAT WOULD IT BE FOR?

I’m cheating and going with Bibi & Sara’s answer. I would totally love a badge showing my most reviewed genre. It would be so much easier for publishers to see your actual interests!

★ WISH FOR IT: WHAT’S ONE BOOK THAT YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY DYING TO READ?

Oh gosh, who could pick just one?!

★ 2018 NETGALLEY CHALLENGE: WHAT WAS THE LAST BOOK THAT YOU RECEIVED AS AN ARC THAT YOU REVIEWED? IF YOU’VE NEVER RECEIVED AN ARC, WHAT’S THE LAST BOOK YOU REVIEWED?

All the Little Lights

This was the last ARC I reviewed. Spoiler- I didn’t like it.

I tag:

Kristin ∼ Sahi  ∼ Chrissi ∼ Erin

No pressure! If you have done this before or don’t want to.

Have a great week everyone and Happy Reading~

  1. It’s so hard to figure out how Netgalley approves you for certain books and then not for others… I feel you! There are some new releases I want to get my hands on so badly and I haven’t managed to yet 😛

    • I know, it doesn’t make sense half the time! I mean, if I review all my books, that should be enough! Lol! I hope you get lucky and get some if your new releases!! 🤞🏻😊

  2. I love your answers! Your feedback ratio is GREAT and I totally agree, what’s the point of requesting a book for review if you’re not going to review it? Also, I wish I knew how ARC approvals work! Sometimes I’m approved for books I definitely thought would be denied, and then other times, a publisher I’ve worked with a lot will deny something I really thought would be approved. It’s a big mystery!

    • Thank you! I try to not request too many at a time. Only what I can handle because they I get overwhelmed and not reviewing a book gives me anxiety. 😆

I know, I wish I knew too. It doesn’t make any sense to me! I wonder if it’s because the jobs change so much? The one author, I always got sent an invite and didn’t this year. I had to reach out and then they forwarded me to a new person. She wanted to see proof of me posting my last reviews and then was okay with sending me an ARC. I don’t think we will ever know! Just keep requesting what we want to read and hope for the best! Haha.

  3. You’re feedback ratio is amazing! Props!! I always review everything I get but I only have been approved for ~15 titles so far. I try to only have 2-3 open at a time so I don’t get behind. (Since blogging, I’ve seen some pretty tragic feedback ratios and they freak me out! How can you have 50+ books that you haven’t gotten to yet?? LOL. That would give me an ulcer!)

    • Thank you!! Oh gosh, I would feel the same way!! It would give me so much anxiety! I saw someone with 75 they hadn’t gotten to yet. I couldn’t even imagine!
