I was tagged by Ayla @ Books and Babbles to do this tag. She just made this tag and asked for people to tag on twitter. I offered to help out and she’s really excited about this one!! I have to admit, I’ve never seen this show. I am happy to help spread the word of this tag! 🙂
How It Works:
The Queer Eye Book Tag consists of five categories (one for each of the Fab Five – Food & Wine, Fashion, Grooming, Design & Culture). For each category, just pick a book that comes to mind (or two, or more…) Have you recently read a contemporary that was full of delicious foods? Use it in the “Food & Wine” category! Know of a super fashionable character? Maybe you can talk about that book/character for Tan’s “Fashion” category (which, by the way, IS MY FAVE!) And there’s a “bonus” category inspired by the QE Hip Tips at the end of each episode: #QEBOOKTIP. This is where you can talk about your favourite queer book(s). When you’re done, tag your bookish friends to do this as well!
*** Straight from Ayla’s post***
Food & Wine// Antoni
I also have to copy Ayla’s answer for this one. Geekerella by Ashley Poston is what comes to mind with the food category. They run a food truck and the food always sounded so good!! I also have to agree about To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han because she was a baker. Yum!!
Fashion//Tan
The Serpent King by Jeff Zentner comes to mind for this one. Lydia is a fashion blogger and she’s really popular. She also tries to do fashion makeovers for her two friends before school starts.
Grooming//Jonathan
This one is REALLY hard. The Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin series has many characters that have transformations! Not only physically but mentally as well. Daenery’s, Sansa, Arya, Jon, Bran, Cersei and so many more characters fall under both of these categories!!
Design//Bobby
I’m going to use website design and go with Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia. She has her own webcomic that she designs and does all the writing for. The illustrations that she shows in the book are really cool too!
Culture// Karamo
Okay, a book that comes to mind with a lot of Culture in is is the Crazy Rich Asians series by Kevin Kwan! These books are full of Asian culture and they are such fun reads!! I can’t wait to see the movie. I hope they do it justice. If you haven’t read them they are funny and full of family drama! Great light reads.
My #QEBOOKTIP(S)
I have to go with A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab! I love Rhys and Alucard are the best!! I also have to shout out to Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. It’s such a cute book and I really loved Simon! I rather enjoyed the movie Love, Simon too.
Thanks again for tagging me, Ayla!
