Showing my Crafty side! :)

I’ve mentioned several times, I also love to Craft. Normally, I spend a lot of time crafting when I’m making gifts for people. I make all kinds of things. This last week/weekend the husband and I decided to attack some crafts. It’s time to make some things for our home! See, I want to make some things for Christmas but we didn’t know if I would be up for it. It’s more and more likely that we will be having to do IVF soon. I can’t imagine wanting to be creative or build things during that process. We got a head start. I am so pumped that I thought I would share some of the things that were made in the last week!

This first project, I did myself. It was a DIY Pottery Barn candle holders. I got the idea from a video by Hometalk on YouTube. I think I saw it on Facebook.Β  I didn’t want to do white. I’m on a Rose Gold kick and decided to give that a go.

I got three table legs from various heights at Home Depot. I removed the screws from the top of the legs to create a flat surface. I used 6- 4″ terracotta saucers. I used epoxy- 6000, to attach the legs and saucers. I let it dry for a day and then spray painted with a Rose Gold spray paint. Viola!

This next project, I did mostly on my own. My husband cut the pieces but I did everything else. Even handled some power tools. haha!

For the longest time, I’ve wanted a neat way to display my Christmas cards. I love sending and receiving Christmas cards! I really don’t have a great place to display them, so we made our own! I’m really excited about it. I can’t wait to use it. Yes, I love Christmas! haha.

This one, my husband helped a lot. He did all the cutting and put it together. I did the painting and decor. He did help pick out all the decor though. He found the dinosaurs! We are a house divided when it comes to sports, as you can see. I am so excited because we have nowhere to hang our stockings! We have a couple more hooks, hoping to fill them one day. πŸ™‚

A Close up, so you can see the Dinos! haha.

I made the sign with vinyl and my Cricut!Β

This next one, I did on my own too. It’s on the other side of my entertainment center, across from the candle holders.Β

These are just re-purposed wine bottles. I love up-cycling! The big one in the middle. It was actually a huge bottle a friend brought over for a New Years party, years ago. I save all kinds of things but this is why! I never know when I’m going to need them. I just spray painted them with the same Rose Gold spray paint as the candle holders. I got some fake flowers and some little gemstones. I made the lettering with my Cricut and vinyl.Β

It took us a while to come up with a quote. I didn’t want anything cheesy or too common. Everyone uses, “Home Sweet Home.” Not this girl. My husband actually came up with this one. So, I guess he did help. It’s actually a quote from Jurassic Park!! It’s kind of double meaning for us. 1. To show our nerdy side and 2. Hope that we will make life soon! πŸ™‚

This last thing, I made today. I make all my wreaths! I have many of them and various kinds. I’ll add a few of them but first I want to show off the one I made today! It’s for Fall, of course. πŸ™‚

Since it’s almost Halloween.. I want to show my pumpkin from last year. I was still working and all of us make pumpkins for the community to vote on. I had to make sure he made it safely. I won. πŸ™‚

Is this okay? Maybe I’ll do a post like once a year with all the crafts I make. I mean, I know this is a book blog but I enjoy seeing other people’s interests. If you would like to see more, I post everything on my personal instagram: lamoore8711

    • Thank you!! I thought so too. I would love to see some of your crafts! I took up knitting in college. I made some scarves and it stopped there. I feel like I don’t have to right patience for it. I’m always jealous of those who can knit awesome things and crochet! πŸ™‚

  1. I am so impressed! I love everything! Those candle sticks- I can’t even! I love your wreaths, especially the bay leaf looking one- very Pottery Barnish. You have a lot of talent, Leslie! Also all the Christmas decor- I love that too! Wow! Yes, keep sharing! β™₯️

    • Thank you!! ❀ ❀ I love crafting so much but I'm always making gifts for others! I just wanted a bunch of stuff for myself, right now! haha. I can't wait until I can put them out. My husband is a strict no Christmas until after Thanksgiving. So, we just made these things to put away! lol

    • Thank you!! Hey, that’s pretty creative! I used to scrapbook a while ago, I still have the stuff but I’m so behind. I got all the stuff to scrapbook my wedding and that was 7 years ago. HAHA!

  3. The candlesticks are amazing! Well done. I would have gone with a different color than white, too. I love copper. I have three door wreaths: a fall one that I add things to for Halloween and take off again, a winter wreath, a spring wreath I add to for Easter, and a summer wreath that starts out with red geraniums and then I change the main flowers to sunflowers in August and add apples to in September. I haven’t made a new one in ages. You have inspired me. 🌞

    • Thank you!! Copper would be beautiful too… not too far off from Rose Gold. πŸ™‚ It’s so smart to make wreaths that you can change up for the season. It would be so much easier for storage!! lol. Yay, I’m glad to have inspired! I hope you make something and show me!! πŸ™‚
