I was tagged by the very lovely, Vera to do This is My Genre book tag! Thank you! If you want to see her answers, I linked her post! 🙂 Also, if you never been, please check out her blog. She is one of my favorite bloggers and one of the sweetest people! ❤
What is your favorite genre?
Fantasy! 100% I used to only read fantasy for several years. This year, I really branched out and have read many Contemporary books! I find them great reads too. Fantasy will always and forever be my number one!
Who is your favourite author in this genre?
Hmm… I have several and I don’t know that I can just pick one! I’m going to be a little non-traditional and pick an author, who I have read and own the most books from. This is definitely Cassandra Clare. I love her stories and I still have not tried from the Shadowhunter world. She has a wonderful way to make me fall in love with characters and her stories. One of my all time favorite characters ever, is Magnus Bane. Oh, how I love him! Also, since he’s a warlock, he shows up in ALL of her series. Thank goodness, she had to sense to make him immortal and pretty much the smartest person alive. 🙂
What is it about the genre that keeps pulling you back?
It’s hands down anything you want. You can dive into the world of Fae, Dragons, Angels, Vampires, Magic and anything you can imagine. The stories are endless and there’s so many of them that it never gets old. 🙂
What is the book that started your love of this genre?
LOL…. Twilight.. no hating! It started it all because I used to be a strictly romance reader. WHAT! I know, I know. My second series that plunged me into a world I can never leave, was the Mortal Instruments. My husband told me that I would love them. I resisted for a while and then he bought the first 4, for Christmas. I had no choice and then I fell in love. 🙂
If you had to recommend at least one book from your favorite genre to a non-reader/someone looking to start reading that genre, what book would you choose and why?
Oh gosh… It took me some time to think of this. So much pressure. Eventually, I decided on Strange the Dreamer. This book is amazing. The world is so interesting and the characters are beautiful. I also loved book two, so I know they are not in for a disappointing ending. It’s just so different and both of them were 5 stars for me!
Why do you read?
Because it is so enjoyable. There’s nothing like getting lost in a beautiful story. Falling in love with characters, worlds and learning new things. It makes me so happy and then getting to discuss such amazing books is the best! I really feel sorry for people who do not read or hate it. I feel so, so bad for them. 😦
