Hello,
I’ve really missed blogging! I just wanted to post another update, since it’s been a few weeks.
The last update, I talked about how I had an emergency surgery (cerclage) to try to save baby. Well, I had a scan a few days later and it didn’t work. I did not know that the doctor did not get my cervix completely closed. He left it open 1cm and didn’t tell us. Now, what will happen if you have water above a hole? Yup, my membranes went through. I wish he would have told us that because we were blindsided that it didn’t work.
After a few days of crazy drugs, it opened up more and a different doctor was confident to try again. She said, she was going to get the membranes pushed back in and get it completely closed. We had to do another amnio to make sure there was no infection again. This poor baby has gone through two surgeries and two amnios. He has done great and survived both when they told me it was a 50% chance that I would make it through surgery without my water breaking.
After they held me at the hospital for 4.5 days, to make sure I didn’t have a rupture and that the cervix stayed closed. It did! After 11 days in the hospital, I was SO ready to go home. I am now on bed rest and can only get up to use the bathroom. We are more than half way through the critical stage! I have 6 more days to viability, where if Oliver comes, they will try to save him! I will feel so much more relieved. I just had another scan, two days ago, and everything is looking great. I am so much more confident that we will make it to next week. Hopefully, a lot further. Baby Ollie has been active and lets me know that he’s doing okay!
I’m finally feeling a little more calm and was able to pick up a book today! I still have pretty bad headaches from the drugs they have me on. So, I can’t really read too much or too long. I’m hoping to be able to catch up on all the comments that have been left here, in the next couple of days.
I post updates more regularly on my twitter account. If you would like to follow me there for more recent updates, my name is @bksRthenewblack
If you could continue keeping us in your prayers (if applies), and/or good thoughts, we would really appreciate it! <3<3<3
I’m sorry to hear you’re going through rough times and wish the best for you all! ❤

Thank you! <3<3 It's been insane and I don't think I've actually dealt with my feelings yet. We are in such a better place today than 3 weeks ago. I'm becoming more hopeful for a longer pregnancy! He's such a little fighter. 🙂

You are so amazingly brave. I am sorry you have to go through all of this. I couldn’t even begin to imagine how hard this has been for you! I am glad Ollie was doing ok, and I hope he still is! (I looked and didn’t see any other update posts, but I haven’t read any of your other posts yet if you mentioned anything within them I haven’t found it yet) ❤ Hang in there! Sending positive thoughts and hugs your way ❤ ❤

Thank you! ❤️❤️It has been insanely difficult and I haven’t posted an update in a while. We are still hanging in there. I’m less than 2 weeks away from my next viability milestone! I’m hoping we can make it that far. He seems to be doing pretty good, so far. Bedrest has been the hardest part so far! It’s so uncomfortable and very boring. There’s always something I’m worried about and can’t seem to concentrate on reading. Plus, the meds give me some strong headaches and that slows my reading down a lot.

I’m glad you and baby are doing relatively okay ❤ Bed Rest does sound awful! Would Audiobooks help? Then you wouldn't have to concentrate on reading and just listen and enjoy the story?

Yes, bed rest is awful. I actually just met with the doctor who did my surgery. She has loved my progress and told me to move around more. I have now been approved to go downstairs to make a quick lunch, everyday. HAHA! The small things. lol. I haven’t tried audiobooks because normally I cannot pay attention. Maybe, since I can’t really do anything else, it would help. Although, now I’m binge watching The Real Housewives on Hulu. hahah
