Undercover Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams

Undercover Bromance (Bromance Book Club, #2)

I loved the first book in this series, The Bromance Book Club. I was really excited to get to this one. With my library hold winding down to a few days, I decided to really get after it. I was able to finish with hours to spare. This is really a pretty fast read.

This book focuses on Thea’s sister, Liv and Braden Mack. I was a little unsure about the characters because I wasn’t the biggest fan of Liv in the first book. She just didn’t seem like a very nice person. I went in giving her the benefit and I still wasn’t the biggest fan of her. She’s really angry and snarky. The snark I really enjoyed but the anger not so much. She was just so off-putting and you really didn’t see much growth until the end of the book. It takes a long time and it makes it quite a journey.

I loved Braden Mack! He’s funny and is just looking for THE love of his life. What I love best about this book are the male friendships. They are such an eclectic group of guys but they make for such a fun group! I found that I flew through the parts where they were all together. The RUSSIAN/vlad needs his own book! Oh my gosh.. I love him so much more in this one!!

There’s a lot of hard topics in this book, which is fine. The thing is that there’s a ton of miscommunication and secrets and that kind of drives me crazy in plot lines. “I know, I should tell him/her but when the time is right.” Guess what? The time is never right.. sigh..

Overall, this was an enjoyable read. I eventually liked Liv a little bit more. Honestly, I was in love with most of the new characters more than anything! Hop was just so great… haha!

  1. lol, love your “Guess what? The time is never right.. ” it’s so true!!! I actually enjoyed this one more than the first one, but they are slightly the same in rating for me. But I really enjoyed the banter between Mack and Liv in this one, had a good time with it. πŸ˜€

    • haha!! It’s totally true and in SOOO many romance novels. I think it’s just a great way for the big “break up/make up to happen. I did enjoy the banter but Live just got on my nerves too many times!! I’m glad you enjoyed it though. These are fun books. πŸ™‚

  2. I’ve been putting off reading this one because I really really really did not like Liv in book one. She… I just… No. So the fact that this book is about her makes me really hesitate. Not sure if I’m convinced to pick it up any time soon but I love hearing that the bromance book club is still one of the best things about this book! Great review πŸ™‚

    • Thank you! Honestly- I felt the same exact way. I actually had a library ebook hold and it took about 3 months to get it. I had a week left on my checkout and decided it was now or never! Books are going for months on hold and I probably never would have picked it up later. lol. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be but I still didn’t love Liv.
