Why did you start blogging? & Why have you kept blogging?
I started blogging about 2 years ago because I won a few Goodreads giveaways. They asked for reviews, of course. I saw that someone was talking about posting to their blog and I felt like I needed that. haha. I did not expect to find this amazing community!! I didn’t think I would get 10 followers, so it was amazing to hit 100 super fast.
I took the whole year off from January 2019-January 2020. I had a really crazy and scary pregnancy and I just couldn’t read. I felt the loss of the community tremendously. It’s so amazing to connect with fellow book lovers. It’s just a hobby but it’s something that really makes me happy. It was like I had a bit of a lighter step when I started reading and blogging again this year. Thanks to those, who stuck around and didn’t forget me. 🙂 ❤
What is your favorite type of blog post to write?
I love Top Ten Tuesday. It’s the most traffic day because I blog hop to EVERYONE that is in my feed. I love all the prompts and getting so many great book recommendations and connecting with others. I also love tags because I like to get to know bloggers better! 🙂
What are your top three favorite blog posts you wrote?
Ohh… I’ll have to think on this one! I honestly think they are ones that are personal and not so bookish related…
Infertility Blows. Personal Update. <–I had a lot of good conversations from this one. It should not be a dirty little secret!
TTT: 5 Star Predictions <–These are always fun to see how you did. I have read 3 of the books and only 1 has been a 5 star read!!
He is Here! Oliver is perfect! <3<3 <– I had kept little updates going on throughout my pregnancy. This one meant a lot because he made it ALIVE and HEALTHY! So it means a lot. 🙂
What are some of your favorite things to do to relax?
Well I read to relax and I blog. Lately, I downloaded TikTok because I wanted to see what it was all about. When things get heavy (there’s a lot of that right now), I just open up the app and watch. There’s some that really made me LOL! I will not ever post but it’s fun to see the creativity of some. I also play Solitaire on my phone. Booktube is another way for me to relax.
What are three of your favorite things?
Reading, my family (Oliver), and crafting!
What are your proudest blogging moments?
When I hit 500 bloggers!!! I was so excited. It took a lot longer than I intended because of the year I took off. It was so cool and I did a giveaway! I never thought I would have followers in the double digits, let alone in the triple digits. It’s been so fun to get to know so many amazing people. My next goal is 1000! Although, that seems like a big number, haha.
What are your hobbies outside of blogging?
I do a lot of crafting! I do a lot of artsy things and I love to garden and have a ton of houseplants. I’m not joking… I think I have over 50 varieties!
Describe your personality in three words
Good listener, Introverted, Kind
What are your top three pet peeves?
Just three? haha! jk!
- There is a turn signal for a reason.. USE IT! I also really dislike when people are in a rush (almost accident rush) to pull out in front of me and then DON’T do the speed limit. Really…?
- When people are rude to waiters and/or retail employees. I used to work retail for years and it is HARD. I absolutely hate it when I see it happening and I ALWAYS step in. Rules are done by corporate- not the peons at the bottom. People need to realize that before freaking out on them.
- When Chris leaves recycled items on the counter instead of putting it in the bin. Drives me insane!
What’s something your followers don’t know about you?
HMM.. I’m a pretty open book…I actually went to college for Psychology. I loved Psych so much! It just fascinates me. I ended up working at a library for 5 years until retiring to be a SAHM. I would have loved to be a guidance counselor but schooling became way too expensive. Thankfully, I have paid off my student loans as of last month!! woot! Only took about 10 years. haha
As always, no pressure to do so! 🙂
