I am so relieved! I haven’t had the best luck with the classics lately. I loved this movie when I was younger and watched it over and over. I had high hopes for this book and they did not disappoint.
This book was so good. I couldn’t put it down and I know the story. Well, the story actually is a bit different than the movie (a little sadder) but that’s okay.
I absolutely love Sara. She’s a bit weird but interesting, kind, and in her own world. I love how she creates these worlds/stories in her mind to keep her sane. It helps her deal with all of life’s ugly problems. All the girls around her think she’s strange but it’s actually really inspiring. This little girl, who is rich, doesn’t have a mom and is being left by her father. She’s thrust into a new world and being paraded around like an object. Her world then gets worse but she still keeps her head up. I LOVE that! She inspires and helps others when she is basically at rock bottom.
This is just such a beautifully written story and I loved it so much. It goes to show how little drops of kindness can make BIG ripples. It’s such a great story that kids should read and definitely take the message to heart. Also, good guys always win, okay!!

I’ve never read the book but this absolutely one of my all-time favorite childhood movies. I can still watch this as an adult, and feel like a kid again immediately.

I’ve never read the book, but I loved the movie as a child, as well. ❤
