Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers

Grave Mercy (His Fair Assassin, #1)

I’ve had this book on my kindle for years. Honestly, I didn’t know if I would ever pick it up! I’m so glad that I did! It was a really interesting story.

I really wasn’t sure where this book was going to take me, emotionally. It starts off so intense and it kind of stays that way for most of the book. It was so good though. I really flew through this one because I had a hard time putting it down!

I loved Ismae so much. She’s grown in in the convent but not your typical convent. She is trained to murder people but usually only the ones the “Saint” has marked. I mean.. typically your bad guy but she starts to question things when she meets Gavriel. Since she’s pretty much been sheltered, she is really naive. I usually hate that but in this case it didn’t do anything to hurt her character. She learns fast and she’s so got so much wit.

The one thing that I didn’t like so much about this book was that it was so predictable! The love interest and who is scheming were pretty obvious early on. Even though, this is the case, I still really enjoyed this book.

There’s so much mystery wrapped around the convent that I really want to know more about. A few or her friends… I really can’t wait to know more about! I’ve heard that each book is told in each of their perspectives. I’m excited to start the next one! I’ve already purchased them! haha.

This book really surprised me because I didn’t think I would like it as much as I did! Besides the fact that it’s pretty predictable it is quite enjoyable. I’m excited to continue on!
