Title: Get A Life, Chloe Brown
Author: Talia Hibbert
Publisher: Avon
Pages: 369

This book was so hyped. It actually took forever to get from my library! I was running out of time on my loan and decided to knock it out before it was due in 3 days.
I really liked the chronic pain/illness representation in this book. Hibbert does an amazing job with this. There are times that you just feel it and just want to give Chloe a big hug. She ends up having a almost death experience and decides to make a list to force herself to live again. I didn’t have a problem with her list, it’s something I would do. I did feel like some of the items just weren’t true to her though. It felt kind of random but maybe that was the point?
My biggest issue with this book is that I was reading a bunch of inner dialogue of two horny teenagers. It’s so bad. Constantly, they are both thinking about how they want to sleep with the other person. It was so overwhelming that I found myself rolling my eyes a lot. It took so much away from the romance and I wasn’t feeling it.
I do get why a lot of people love this book. It’s got some great representation and I loved the hate to love trope. It’s one of my favorites! I did think the ending was really cute and I liked the last few chapters more than the rest of the book, really.
Overall, this was just an okay book for me. I could have had such high expectations but I really felt let down. It’s not bad but I have read some great romances lately and this one didn’t do it for me. Don’t hate me! I’m sorry, I really wanted to love this one.

I’m so embarrassed but I DNFed this book but adored Dani Brown. π I know, makes no sense.

Yup I feel this! I ADORED the illness rep but it was very steamy for me π π and there were a few issues I had with the plot. I actually preferred the second book in the series even though the steam level on that one is off the charts lol! I got soooo embarrassed reading it ππππππ

Yeah, I just couldn’t connect to it. There are plenty of books where the steam level is high and I don’t mind. This one was like all about it. haha. Ohhh, I’ve heard a few people say they liked the second one better!!!

Oh no, I’m sorry this wasn’t a winner for you π¦ I think that’s definitely one of the reasons why I’ve been pushing off reading this for SO LONG coz the hype is huge and I’m worried I won’t love it as much as everyone else. Great review though!

Thank you! Yes, I totally had it hyped up and it could be why it didn’t live up to my expectations. Just make sure you have lower expectations and you might love it! π
