I must be in a pirate mood because this book gave me so many pirate vibes. I loved this book so much. It was so refreshing!

Adrienne did such an amazing job creating this world and amazing characters. What I really appreciated the most was the slow burn romance. I really wasn’t sure if there was going to be a romance until much later in the book. I sometimes just really like a book that isn’t all about a romance.

I was rooting for Fable so hard in this book. She’s lost her mother and her father abandons her on an island. He just leaves her there alone without anything and tells her to find her way to him. I don’t really know if he’s expecting her to or not. Years later, she’s struggling and barely surviving but she does not give up. She is so brave and courageous! She’s constantly knocked down but keeps on getting right back up.

I really enjoyed how fast paced this was. There was so much action and it was dark and intense at times. This book is definitely more character driven than plot driven. It’s a good thing that I really enjoyed all the characters.

Even though, I really liked the world created, I wish there was more world building. I have so many questions and there are a lot of things that are not explained. I’m hoping that we get more of that in the next book.

I didn’t realize this was a series until I hit a massive cliff hanger! I am so sad because I have to wait so long to find out what happens next! I really enjoyed this pirate adventure and I can’t wait for more.

I want to thank Netgalley & Wednesday Books for an e-ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

  1. Great review! That was a wicked cliffhanger wasn’t it? I wasn’t ready for it and my curiosity is eating at me šŸ˜‚ I really can’t wait until the next book comes out and I bet the wait will feel like forever LOL I also really enjoyed the slow burn romance. I am a fan of both characters so I couldn’t be happier for them šŸ–¤ I just want more!

    • Yes, omg~ I can’t wait for book two!! I agree about the romance. I wasn’t even sure it was going to happen and I loved that it wasn’t the focus of the book! I bet book two is going to be sooo good!! šŸ™‚
