Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week is the Top Ten Book Quotes (these could be quotes from books you love, or bookish quotes in general). I think I’m going to do Great quotes from books I’ve recently read. I’ve started quoting while annotating and for reviews.

Dreams of Gods and Monsters (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #3)

“People with secrets shouldn’t make enemies. People with destinies shouldn’t make plans.”

Anxious People

“This story is about a lot of things, but mostly about idiots. So it needs saying from the outset that it’s always very easy to declare that other people are idiots, but only if you forget how idiotically difficult being human is.”

I think this sums up the book pretty good! lol

Days of Blood & Starlight (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #2)

“I am one of billions. I am stardust gathered fleetingly into form. I will be ungathered. The stardust will go on to be other things someday and I will be free.”

The Sword of Kaigen

“Wholeness, she had learned, was not the absence of pain but the ability to hold it.”

A Song of Wraiths and Ruin (A Song of Wraiths and Ruin, #1)

““First, a story ends when it ends, and not a moment before. If you are unhappy with this ending, make a new one.”

The Dragon Republic (The Poppy War, #2)

Kitay shook his head. “No, that’s what you get when you’ve killed all the brave men and let the cowards decide.”

Mistborn (Mistborn, #1)

“The right belief is like a good cloak, I think. If it fits you well, it keeps you warm and safe. The wrong fit however, can suffocate.”

Open Book

“There are so many firsts to raising kids, and parents are told to catch them all. But they don’t warn you about the lasts. The last baby onesie. The last time you tie their shoes. The last time they think you have every answer in the world.”

The House in the Cerulean Sea

“I’m afraid I don’t have magic.”

“You do, Mr. Baker. Arthur told me that there can be magic in the ordinary.”

A Dance with Dragons (A Song of Ice and Fire, #5)

“A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, said Jojen. The man who never reads lives only one.”

I had to add this because it’s one of my all time favorites!!

I’m so excited to see others favorite quotes. I know, there’s a ton that I haven’t added here. I just wanted to add some of the recent books I’ve loved! Have you read any of these?? Do any of these quotes make you want to read the book?? They are all wonderful reads. Happy Tuesday!

    • Thank you!! I loved Dreamer and it was my first by her. You definitely should pick up DoSaB because it’s fantastic. Dreamer was better but it’s still so worth the read!! I hope you get to it one day. 🙂

  1. Fab quotes, Leslie! I need to start getting better at recording the quotes I read in books and I’ve only really started annotating books recently! 😂 I love the ASOWAR one but also, ugh, it was SO hard for me to choose just *one* quote from Cerulean Sea. I highlighted so much in that book! LOL

    • Thank you! 🙂 Oh yes… I started annotating about three months ago? It has made a world of difference and makes quoting soo much easier. The only thing… it does make it so hard to choose just one!! Ahhhhh… yess…. Cerulean was SO good. I had a lot also.. it was a tough choice!
