What percentage (roughly) of the books you read do you write blog post reviews for? (submitted by Elizabeth @ย Complex Chaos)

Ohh, this is great question. I never used to write reviews and just rated until I started blogging. I think I won a few Goodreads giveaways and wrote reviews for only those. Funny, I haven’t won a GR giveaway since I started blogging. HaHa! Now, I write a review for just about 98% of the books I read. I think a lot of it is for myself. I love going back and refreshing my memory, especially if it’s a part of a series. Lately, I’ve been loving doing “mini-reviews” for books that I don’t have a ton to say about. Sometimes it’s a lot of Middle Grade and Memoirs because I don’t have a ton of things to say. I really like writing reviews though and it’s probably why I do so many of them.

  1. Great post, Leslie and this is a fun question to answer! I think when I started the blog I was determined to write long ass in-depth reviews for every single book I read ๐Ÿ˜‚ I was doing pretty good with that until recently and now I’ve decided to do more mini-reviews whenever I can cos like you said, sometimes there isn’t much to say!

    • Thank you! Yes!! I thought the same. I just took soo much time and wrote loooong reviews and it became overwhelming. Some books make it easy.. I’m about to write up my review for Silver Flames and that one might be ranty. haha. Now, I’m all about min-reviews!
