I had a lot of hopes for this book and it kind of disappointed me. There are a lot of cute things about this story and I did enjoy most of my time with it. It was a really fast read but I think there was a bit of substance missing. I would have liked a lot more character development too. There’s one thing that I found funny: there is no halftime in hockey. Wait, until you get there. I don’t know how they missed that in editing! Regardless, this wasn’t a bad read just left a lot to be desired.
This was such a great read. It made me SO hungry. So believe it when you read the reviews!! I think this is a great book to show how strong someone can be. I cannot image having a toddler finishing up high school. WOW. It just seems impossible but this is a great story of overcoming. It’s as beautiful as the cover!
This was such a fun one!!! I had seen so many people talk about this and for good reason. Amari’s world gets turned upside down when her brother, Quinton, has gone missing. She then gets thrown into a world of magic. One of the things that I really liked about this was the fact that the author shined a light on how horrible it is to judge others. Poor Amari has a rough go and it seems like no matter what world she is in, she’s being judged by her looks or what they think of her. We need more books that shine a light on this. It’s not okay and never will be okay. I love that she never gives up and is so resilient! Great adventure and I can’t wait for the next one.
