T.T.T. Places In Books I’d HATE to Live!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week is the Top Ten Places In Books I’d Love to Live. I am going to take this in a different route and change it to Places In Books I’d HATE to Live. I read mostly fantasy books and most of these places would be terrible to live until the end when the good guys conquer and all is daisies (if that even happens).

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)

I definitely and absolutely would not want to live in Panem, ever!

A Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire, #1)

I really think that Westeros would be an absolute terrible place to live. I mean, there’s really no part that I would like to live.. maybe Winterfell under Ned Stark but I hate the cold.. so nope.

The City of Brass (The Daevabad Trilogy, #1)

Considering they hate humans.. I wouldn’t fit in there at all. 😀

The Sword of Kaigen

Kaigenese Empire… not the cold.. not the oppression of women. I’m out. Plus, the war.

Divergent (Divergent, #1)

My anxiety would not be able to handle the factions and where I would most likely end up. Not to mention, it just sounds like a terrible place to be.

Twilight (Twilight, #1)

Forks is a terrible, terrible place to live. haha. All the rain and dreary weather would not be good for me.

Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1)

Living in space when the government and AI is trying to kill you?! Heck no! I adore this series but it would be a place I would hate to live.

An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1)

Living under the Martial Empire would be absolutely terrifying. This would is barbaric and brutal. No, thanks!

The Final Empire (Mistborn, #1)

“For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the “Sliver of Infinity,” reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible.”

Yeah, that sounds absolutely terrible… PASS!

The Handmaid's Tale (The Handmaid's Tale, #1)

NO. NO. NO. NO. NO. NO!!!! Although, kinda close to that one…

Do you agree or disagree with any of these? Let’s chat below!

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy ❤

    • HAHA! Okay, that makes some sense then. I just can’t do the perpetual days of wet and dull. My mood really tanks in the winter. lol It might be a nice place to visit for nostalgia but not live, for me. ❤ 🙂

  1. Haha, yes. These are the places where it would/ could be really difficult to survive — so, of course, we’d hate to live there. I am yet to read Kaigen but I am sure it’s really all that bleak too. And Panem’s on my TTT list too. Very neat spin on this week’s theme! 🙂

  2. What a great spin on this prompt! I agree with you that most fantasy world are actually horrible places to live. I think Panem would be one of my top as well. It’s so divided and, well, the Hunger Games would be in issue.

    • Thank you! Yes, it does make it extra challenging. Yeah, it has to be up there for one of the worst. I wouldn’t make it in the Hunger Games, that’s for sure!

  3. I’ve never been to Forks, but I did grow up in Washington State. I love the rain and dreary weather. I know some people find the climate depressing, but I’m the opposite – I have a hard time with the constant heat and sunshine here in Arizona. I guess you get used to what you grow up with??

Also, I’ve seen a few people say they would love to live in (or at least visit) the Hunger Games world. What? I would hate it. I’m way too wimpy to survive in such a bleak, hardscrabble place!

    Happy TTT!

    • I definitely think it has to do with how you grow up! I’m originally from Texas and love the sun. lol.

Right?! That makes NO sense to me. It’s so drab too.. unless you are in the capital and that’s just a scary place.

  4. Omgsh I LOVE that you flipped this topic on its head and did places you would hate to live! I agree with all of these. Especially THG 😂 What a terrible place to live seriously (if you even live that long because of the games 😂)

If you had to live in one of the places you listed above, which would you pick? 😂

    • Thank you!! I really struggled but didn’t with places I would hate. haha. OOOH.. that’s a great question!! I think I would have to go with Daevabad and hope that I could fit in. I think I would have the highest chance of surviving there in disguise! haha Plus, it sounds SO beautiful!! 😀
