Do you think you will ever get tired of blogging? (submitted by Julie @ JadeSky)
There are times that I totally get overwhelmed and need to take a mini break. I went over a year without blogging when I was in a high risk pregnancy and through his first 6 months of life. I missed it dearly. Blogging is more about the community than the actual posts, for me anyways. I do know that sometimes I have to switch up my posts so I don’t get into a bit of a blogging slump. Overall, I don’t think that I would ever completely leave. I might take time off but then come back. I think a lot of us do that and it’s totally okay. The book community is here waiting and ready to catch you back up.
What about you?

If I do, I’d need something to replace it with .. although my ideas right now are struggling and everything- I can’t think of what i’d be doing if I were not bloghopping, writing & stressing finding ideas 😂 especially in the current time where it seems everything is closed-off because of covid

Honestly, it has been a saving grace with covid. Let us have some interaction with others when we can’t in real life. I totally get that. I used to be able to blog hop and be much more active before I had a kid. Now, my toddler makes the rules and some days I just can’t keep up! I do love it though and I don’t think I could ever just let it go. ❤

Yess !! Absolutely. Iknow even playing new horizon with a few other people from a book discord was so good on my morale.. like, sure you can’t see them, but you know they’re real somewhere in the world!
Ahah yeah.. 😅 sometimes life does get the best of me and I dont for a couple of days ..

Oh yeah, that totally helps! As humans we crave interactions and the last year has been so hard. Any outlet you can do that helps you engage with others is wonderful! That sounds like a lot of fun too! I’m glad that helped.
haha.. yeah.. I’m trying so hard to be better about it! lol

Sometimes I think of not blogging anymore because it does get exhausting at times. But the community really is lovely, and continually making commitments to do book reviews helps keep me going.

Honestly, same. It’s a lot of work. I mean.. it’s really like a part-time job sometimes. It became a lot harder when I had a baby, who is now turning 2. BUT the community is so amazing and I just don’t know that I could let that go! I think stepping back and not posting as often really helps. I used to try and post a meme or something every day. Nope.. that got really old fast.

It is the community that keeps me engaged too. I’ve not taken a break from book blogging yet, but it’s good to hear how many people have done so and then returned to it. I hope we have many more years of these wonderful chats ahead of us!

It’s all about the community for me, too! I learned years ago not to bog myself down with commitments for the blog, so that I can blog stress free (not that this is the key for everyone). I want blogging to stay fun and not feel like work.

Yes, I started out the other way and it felt like a job and it wasn’t all that enjoyable. I started meeting some awesome people and the community is just so amazing! ❤

Very well said. The community aspect is important to me too. I need to take breaks now and then as well. Having a baby was a huge turning point for me in how I blogged and how I thought about my blogging. And that was 10 years ago! I thought it would get easier the older she got–but I’m still waiting. LOL My blog and I have evolved over the years, some years I have been more active than others. I fit it in around work and my family, which isn’t always easy, but I still enjoy it enough to make it work somehow. I don’t stress when the pieces don’t all fit together anymore. At least not much. 🙂 Blogging is a way to connect with others, relieve some stress, and talk about my favorite subject–books.
I hope you have a great weekend, Leslie!

Yes!! Exactly!! LOL! Oh no… I was hoping as my kid got older it would get easier for blogging. LOL! It did totally change things when I had him but that’s okay. He’s worth it. haha. It’s so hard trying to find time sometimes. I mean… I’m responding to this a week later!! I have to really just go with it when I can. I hope you have an amazing weekend!! ❤

I have definitely taken breaks…I need them just as much as I need oxygen! 🙂 Once i took about a 2 year break (almost 2 years or more I can’t remember) only to return to it. I guess, you can say I love book blogging especially after having found such a close community. And I’m so glad I found you!

Honestly, sometimes this is a lot of work so a break is necessary!! I am so glad that when we do take breaks that we come back and it’s like we never left (besides the hundreds of books we are now behind on). I know, I’m so glad I found you too!!! ❤
