Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week is the Top Ten Books I’d Gladly Throw Into the Ocean (submitted by Beauty & Her Books)!
Oh boy… I know that these are an author’s work but I’m taking a moment to highlight books that I just don’t like. Sometimes an author can really let you down with a series or spin-off. I wouldn’t ever throw a book in the ocean but metaphorically here we go….

This was my first and only by him and I hated it so much. It also terrified me.. go down into the deep, deep, depths of the ocean!

Yeah… I fell into the hype with this one and I hated it.

So much potential and it really let me down. I was an unpopular opinion on this one.

Take the whole set of 4-6 with you. This was just garbage.

Ugh. Super disappointing. I had to dnf at 40%. I hope her girls never read this.

Don’t do it. It’s terrible. It will make you questions whether or not you even loved her original trilogy. I’m so scared to re-read it!

Nope. waste of time.

This is book 2 in the series. The first book was okay but this was just bad. Actually, if you work in a library, you will hate James Patterson by default. LOL. He pumps out so many books and there’s thousands of holds. It makes shelving holds a nightmare.

This is also the second book. I fell into the hype and bought the whole trilogy so excited. Then.. I saw SO many issues and ugh. I have since donated it… but it could sink to the bottom of the ocean, for sure.

I was so excited for this because I liked the House of Night series. This was a hot mess and I hated it.
Have you read any of these?? Let’s chat below!
I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy ❤

The Girl on the Train. Ergh. I wanted to like that one (and I did like the premise) but yeah wasn’t wowed.

The Girl on the Train was so frustrating on so many levels…but I kinda liked it. Ha! My TTT is off-the-board this week

I read Everless, and did like it. The others I haven’t read… and the 50 Shades book is a nope from me! I mean there are some that given infinite time I might get around to reading, but even if I had infinite time, I wouldn’t read that series.

haha.. Yeah.. I totally get that. I think that we all wish for infinite time!

Haha, I love this post!! I couldn’t agree more about The Girl on The Train!! I still can’t understand the hype about that story. Also Everless! I am still upset about the last three books of Shatter Me series, because they were too much Kenji focus and not enough Warner and Juliette. I would keep them but, yeah, the disappointment was huge.

OMG! It’s so refreshing to see so many people agree about Girl on the Train. I never understood the hype because it sucked! lol. Yes!! I was SO disappointed with the last three books of Shatter Me. I totally just pretend they don’t exist, even if I love the covers. ugh!! So sad. It was brilliant and she should have left it alone!!

LOLOL I’m so glad I listened to my gut and did NOT pick up Girl on the Train cos it sounds like it would’ve definitely made it onto my list today had I read it. Sad to see Ali Wong’s book here though! Haha, I still haven’t read it but I love her humour although I did hear a few mixed reviews about this one. Great list, Leslie 😉

YES! It’s terrible!! Great job.. I fell into the hype and regretted it. haha. I looove Ali Wong. I was so disappointed but it was very graphic and kinda gross. I had to stop. Sigh.

The only ones I’ve read on your list are Girl on the Train and Fifty Shades. I did enjoy Girl on the Train, but I also listened to it as an audiobook so I wonder if that changes things at all. Fifty Shades was a guilty pleasure that I knew was SO BAD but I Read it anyways lol

Hi Leslie! I’ve only read The Girl on the Train and to me it was a decent read. Nothing else on your list and I’ll make sure to stay way clear!

This post made me laugh so much! I didn’t take part this week because although some books have disappointed in me I don’t think I have it in me to throw any book in the ocean hahaha!

I may still have to give Everless/Evermore a try, but I’m okay with avoiding the others. I was not a fan of The Girl on the Train either and I am in a similar boat with The Betrothed and glad I avoided it as I loved her other series and I don’t want to start questioning that haha. [My Top Ten]

Oh gosh… yeah… I was going to re-read The Selection series before the show comes out but I don’t think I will. I loved it and I don’t want to hate it now. haha

Exactly! I will watch the show, but I have to let the good memories of the book live on without verifying with a re-read haha

The Horan wasn’t that bad… it just went on, and on, and on, and on about each and every place they went and YAWN. Her Loving Frank was great, though!

lol! I will have to check that one out! 🙂

E. L. James is, I am sure, on many of these lists – and possibly Twilight too – but I could not face the negativity of this topic. These are the books I chose that belong in the sea, only because they feature the sea prominently!
