I want to thank Esther @ Cozy with Books for the tag! I have linked her post so you can check out her answers and her blog!! Thanks for this one because it’s a fun one. 🙂
I think this tag originated over on Booktube by the channel, Tia and All the Books so be sure to check out that channel too! At least, that’s what I saw on Esther’s page!
Adaptation Snob: Do you always read the book before watching the film/ TV show?
Nope. There’s a lot of times I watch movies/tv shows and not realize it was a book until it’s too late. I am really the opposite of most people and tend to read them after I watch the movie. Unless, it’s something that I’ve already read before. The reason for this is because I just sit there and compare the whole time. They get so many things wrong or miss some important moments (IMO) and it just ruins the experience! I love to get the bigger and better story (most times) after I’ve seen the movie. It’s really hard to ruin a book after watching the movie because it’s mostly better. One exception to this rule are the Outlander books/series. For a while, I was reading about 100 pages each week and it would be the following episode. They do such a wonderful job adapting the stories to tv that it feels like I’m just watching what I read.
Format Snob: You can only choose 1 format in which to read books for the rest of your life. Which one do you choose: physical books, eBooks, or audiobooks?
It would have to be physical. I do enjoy ebooks and read them quite often. They sometimes are much easier to hold and handle with my son. BUT I just couldn’t not ever have a physical book. I really prefer them and then I could look at them on my shelves too. haha.
Ship Snob: Would you date or marry a non-reader?
Absolutely. As long as, they didn’t mind my reading and book buying habit. Luckily, my husband is also a big reader and I don’t have that problem! He supports it and enjoys it. In fact, he’s FINALLY finished all his exams for his career path that we are starting our FIRST buddy read next month!! He’s loved the Wheel of Time series and has been recommending them for, forever. Since the show is coming out at the end of the year, we decided to do a buddy read together! I’m excited!
Genre Snob: You have to ditch one genre – never to be read again for the rest of your life. Which one do you ditch?
It would have to be Science Fiction. I’m just starting to dabble in Sci-Fi but I just have such a hard time with the jargon at times. I don’t get quite as sucked into the story because of it and I just don’t see that changing. Maybe it would but right now this is my answer!
Uber Genre Snob: You can only choose to read from one genre for the rest of your life. Which genre do you choose?
Fantasy. I’ve always loved fantasy and that’s what started my love affair with YA and then jumping into Adult fantasy. It also started my love for blogging and all kinds of things. I just love all the ways anyone can interpret fantasy and you just get to disappear in amazing worlds! I would really miss romance. I never thought I would be saying that! Over the last couple years, I’ve really enjoyed them in between some fantasy books!
Community Snob: Which genre do you think receives the most snobbery from the bookish community?
Ohhh.. this is a good one. I do think all genres kinda have this but maybe YA? I think a lot of people look down on it because they think that adults shouldn’t be reading it. I know when I worked in the library it was so hard to put a lot of YA in the teen section because of some of the adult content. It also didn’t really qualify as adult so we would always just stick it in the teen section. There’s a lot of back and forth about it. Regardless, I might be growing out of a bit lately but I will always read YA! 🙂
ANYONE WHO WANTS TO DO THIS ONE!!! I’m trying to catch up! It’s a fun one and I think you should all do it!
