Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week is Top Ten New-to-Me Authors I Discovered in 2021!
I missed like half the year, in regards to reading. I do think I managed 10 new authors, which is awesome! I love reading new authors and I’m hoping to read from more this year.

I did have to stretch it a bit but two of them are not debuts! I checked. They don’t have many other books out but they do. How many new authors did you discover?! Any auto-buy authors?!
❤ Let’s chat below ❤

Fonda Lee is awesome! Great list!

I really like the books I’ve read by Elizabeth Acevedo. Now I’m wondering if I have missed some. My list this week

I just finished Clap When You Land over the weekend. It was good too. I did have some trouble with the first half since I’m not used to reading in verse but finished great!

I started The Eye of the World last year but didn’t finish it… I wouldn’t say I DNFed it but I grew a little tired of it and other books clamoured for attention. I hear that you need to wait for book 3 to really get invested and I’m not sure I have the energy! And A Master of Djinn is on my tbr.
These are my new-to-me authors from last year.

I totally understand that. I took a few months off about 40% of the way in. It’s way too long and could have been shorter but it was good. My husband was buddy reading it with me and that helped a lot!!

I discovered Martha Wells recently and loved her. Her Raksura series is brilliant and I have the murderbot diaries on my TBR. I loved Jade City too.

Oohhh, I have not read that series but I’m going to put it on my TBR! Murderbot is so good!!

Jennifer L. Armentrout is definitely one of my new favorite authors. I’m pretty sure I read a book by her for the first time last year too!

Great post! I finally read a John Green novel last year, I know he’s not a new author, but I never read any of his books before, does that count, lol?

Thank you! That absolutely counts!! So many of these were new to me but had many books out already! 🙂

YAS! Of course, I had Martha Wells and Fonda Lee on my list today too 😃 I just read my first book by Clark and I loved it and I’m looking forward to trying Gwynne’s books this year. Great list, Leslie!

I read Wells for the first time last year, too. Apparently, we’re not the only ones because I’ve seen her on a lot of lists today. No wonder! Her books are so fun 🙂
Happy TTT!

Elizabeth Acevedo is wonderful! I keep hearing a lot of people wrap Jade City, I must make an effort to read that in 2022. Also I bought the first book in The Wheel of Time intending to read it in 2021 but it didn’t quite happen so maybe Robert Jordan will be on my Best New To Me Authors in 2022 list!

Jade City is one I would recommend over all of those to make a priority!! Amazing series. Robert Jordan barely made my list bc I finished it the last week in December! It’s good but wow is it long. Good luck when you get to it! I hope you enjoy it. I did and I liked the show too!

What an awesome list! I love Fonda Lee & P.Djeli Clark & have the first Murderbot book on my TBR, so fingers crossed I’ll be able to add Martha Wells to my list for next year 😀

Wohoo! Good luck!! Murderbot is so good. I didn’t expect to like it as much since it’s not my typical genre!

Loved With the Fire on High, as well. Several of your other books are on my tbr. I’m determined to finally read All Systems Red this year, and I’ve finally succumbed to the hype for Jade City and placed it on my tbr. Ha!

Yay!!! You will not regret it (I hope) bc I loved all three books in the Jade series! It’s amazing.. a bit brutal but so good. The good thing about All Systems Red is that they are novellas!! Quick read 😊😁
