Top Ten Tuesday: Dynamic Duologies!!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week is Top Ten Dynamic Duos (Submitted by Elley @ Elley the Book Otter).

This is a fun topic but I’m not really feeling it so I’m going to divert. I’m going to talk about 5 duologies that I’ve loved and 5 that I want to get to! Who doesn’t love duologies?! Sometimes I think a lot of YA should be duologies instead of trilogies!

Five Duologies I loved:

I really love this duology and I’m so glad that I own it. I display it just this way on my bookshelf!
This duology is just gorgeous! Highly recommend!
One of my favorite groups of people!
I really enjoyed this duo too! Fable vibes.. but more pirates.
Love, love, love this duology!

Five Duologies I am DYING to Read/NEED to Finish:

I have book 2 on the way and I’ve heard so much about book 1. I hope it lives up to the hype.
I can’t believe I haven’t read this either. It’s just sitting on my shelf!
I’ve read book 1 and I really enjoyed it. I bought book 2 and still haven’t picked it up.
I pre-ordered the second book but have not picked it up yet. I did really enjoy book 2.
I just buddy read the first book last week. Dini and I both loved it (minus the crawlers) and I am excited for the next one!

Have you read any of these and loved them? Do you have any of these on your TBR? Let’s chat below!!

    • These Violent Delights was so good! I just read it this past weekend. I can’t believe it took me so long! Haha. I need to read book two for Spin the Dawn! I just love that I pre-order books and never get to them in a timely manner. 🤣🙃

  2. Great list of duologies, Leslie! 😍 I still have to read Muse of Nightmares but have to re-read Strange at this point, I reckon! Lol. I also can’t wait to start We Hunt the Flame and to finish OVD! I hope that it won’t be too brutal on us 😂

    • Thank you!! 🙂 lol!! I should just continue series so I don’t have to re-read them by the time I decide to! haha. I’m so excited for both of those buddy reads. I’m just hoping that OVD has less b u g s. gosh, that was brutal!!

  3. I LOVE your twist on this week’s prompt! So cool. Now I want to make a list of my favorite duologies…

I adore Fable/Namesake and Six of Crows/Crooked Kingdom. I hope you enjoy the ones you haven’t read yet. 🙂

  4. Vicious/Vengeful is one of the only duologies I can think of where I loved both books and actually liked the second book more than the first. I tend to find with duologies, I really love the first book, but then I don’t like the second as much (this happened to me with ASOWAR, I loved ASOWAR but then was kind of disappointed in APOSAS). Same with Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom, I really enjoyed Six of Crows, but Crooked Kingdom was kind of a let down. I still need to read Daughter of The Siren Queen, I read Daughter of The Pirate King years ago, but never got around to the second one.

  5. Great twist! I’ve read Fable but still need to read Namesake. I have them on kindle, but I would also love to own the physical books for my shelf. Those covers!! 🙂 Six of Crows is one of my faves, and Strange the Dreamer is on my tbr. Happy reading this week!

  6. The Adrienne Young pair DOES make a beautiful display, and I love the mirroring of the Daughter Of… titles.

But the best thing about duologies is when they have almost musical sounding titles that complement each other — Spin the Dawn/Unravel the Dusk? Absolutely beautiful. They also sound like lovely show horse names! (a niche interest of mine based on an old RPG/horse ownership game I played, when I was always on the lookout for name options — and apparently, subconsciously, still am)

    • You know what? I actually never thought about the complementing titles to duolgies. That’s fabulous and I love it! I’m going to back through all of them now and look at that more closely! Thank you so much for that!! ❤
