Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week there is a new topic for bloggers to choose and list their top ten. This week is Top Ten Comfort Reads (Share which books or kinds of books you turn to when you need to escape. You can either share specific titles if you love to re-read, or you could share qualities of books you look for in a comfort read.)
For this one, I’m going to be talking about book I would like to re-read. I hardly ever do re-reads. I just have so many books on my TBR that I want to get to that I don’t find the time. I have been thinking about it more and more and these are my top contenders. I’m also so worried that I will hate a book on a re-read!

It’s been so very long. This was one of my favorites for years and kind of want to go back and see if that still holds true.

This would probably just be the ultimate comfort read for me. I really want to do a re-read

I loved this and I would love to go back.

This series is brilliant, and I would love to revisit it someday!

This book is so, so, so good. I really want to give this one a re-read!

This will actually be a re-read this summer! I’m going to read this series with Dini, and I’ll re-read the first with her. ❤

So sweet and all that baking. Definitely, such a comfort read that I hope to re-read one day!

I loved this book so much and it’s still one of my favorites. I would love to give it another read!!

This is another that I want to re-read and I’m planning on it with Dini! I think we originally wanted to get to it this summer.

I loved this one and I can see this being such a lovely comfort read that I would hope to re-visit one day!
I know so many people re-read and that’s awesome. I did re-read one book this year, The Raven Boys, and it was such an interesting experience. I do hope that I can find time to do some re-reads. I mean… I plan on it eventually since I have them all on my bookshelves. haha
Let’s chat below & drop your links!!

I would love to re- read more. And Gemina is one of my favorite SF books so I can totally see revisiting that series!

I know, it’s so hard to do it! I just think… I could have read an unread book that’s been staring at me on my shelves. LOL!

Great list! I’ve always raved about Mistborn which was my first Sanderson and he is both prolific and reliable as a writer!
These are the authors to whom I have found myself turning for comfort – and I had included Sanderson!

Thank you! My first by Sanderson was Way of Kings and still one of my all-time favorite books! He’s such a great author.

Great list of potential re-reads. It’s a great spin on this week’s prompt. Although it’s not on my comfort reads list, I would totally re-read the Illuminae Files series and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue too.

I don’t reread at all really any more either, though if I did, I’m sure VE Schwab’s books would be top of the list since she’s a favourite author of mine.

Winter Garden is one of my favorite Kristin Hannah books. It would be a great reread. I get why you’re rereading It Ends With Us with It Starts With Us coming out. I don’t think I’m going to reread, but I probably should.

It has been one of my favorites by her too. It’s just been so long that I think I need to make sure. haha. Yes, Dini and I were planning on reading it this summer if you want to jump in on that buddy read with us! 🙂

Addie LaRue is one I’d like to reread again. I think mainly because, for me, it moved so slowly for the first half or so that I almost gave up on it. I think a reread would give me a bit more appreciation for the character herself.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!

Ah, that makes perfect sense! The first half is rather slow and going back now, would probably help you enjoy it more!

Great list, Leslie! I can’t wait to do these re-reads with you 😍 I also randomly re-read the Illuminae series last year with the audiobooks and it was fantastic! Such a good series. I still need to read Backman’s books and I know you love them so much so hopefully that means I will too 😂

Thank you, Dini! You know, I just realized that I would have re-read a few books this year. It will be the first time in YEARS and they are all with you! ❤ haha! I hope you get to him one day because I think you would too!! 🙂

I would LOVE to re-read Mistborn but it is such a chunk of a series. I also really need to read Illuminae and Evelyn Hugo because they’re book books I’m 99% sure I would love. Great picks 😀

I know, it’s so chunky!! I would probably skip Mistborn and continue on, if I wasn’t buddy reading the whole series! OMG- Yes!! I think you would love them!! 🙂

There are so many good books on your list, I don’t know where to start 😆 I almost put Kristen Hannah on my list, but I find a lot of her books comfort reads (although Winter Garden is one of my favorites as well!)

Thank you! She’s got so many good ones, which is a good problem to have. haha! Winter Garden was my first by her and it’s just so good.

I adored Eliza and Her Monsters and I thought it was just as good upon a reread. 🙂 I think the other books you’ve listen would be good books to reread as well. I hope you like them still if you do reread any of them.

Oh, that’s awesome to hear! I always get nervous about re-reading and not enjoying it as much! Thank you so much. 🙂

Personally I am an avid rereader, I find it a great way to relax. I haven’t read any of the books on your list, but Mistborn has been on my TBR for a long time. I always hear great things about it!

That’s awesome! I really wish I could do the same. I just fight for any time right now with my toddler. Maybe when he’s older and more independent! Mistborn is a great read!

I love Beartown and Us Against You, so I have A Man Called Ove on my TBR pile! But I just need to wait until I’m in the right mindset as I have cried repeatedly in the other Backman books I read haha

Yes, you will absolutely cry in it!! haha! I would do the same because it’s very similar in style. I hope you love it when you do get to it though!

Oh you’ve got some great choices here! I definitely want to reread Addie LaRue, too. It felt so cozy.

I LOVE to reread but I’m also always afraid my feelings will change for a book. 😃 And as I’ve taken on more and more ARCs, finding the time to reread is impossible. To All the Boys is a series I would like to reread someday, as well. I own It Ends With Us but I’ve yet to read it for a first time. Hopefully soon!

Right?! I’m so scared I’ll hate it. But I’ve got sooo many arcs that it’s basically my plan each month and then fit my own books in. It’s crazy! 😂😭 I just can’t stop but I also love it? Haha!
