Mid-Year Freak Out Tag 2022!

I cannot believe we are halfway through the year. Time is just flying by this year. I didn’t know if I would have time to make this post because COVID has kicked my butt. We got sick right when we got home from vaca. I am so jealous of all those who had mild symptoms for like a day or two. We are vaccinated too and it just goes to show how it’s so different for everyone! ANYWAYS, let’s get to this post!!

1.BEST BOOK YOU’VE READ SO FAR IN 2022?

This was a tough one but came to my mind right away. It’s just such an epic book and I loved everything about it.

2. BEST SEQUEL YOU’VE READ SO FAR IN 2020?

This was a fabulous sequel, which really surprised me!

3. NEW RELEASE YOU HAVEN’T READ YET, BUT WANT TO?

Yep. I still haven’t read my most anticipated book. HAHA! I’ve seen a lot of comments and now I’m scared to pick it up. lol

4. MOST ANTICIPATED RELEASE FOR THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR

I have an arc for this and I’m so excited to read this one! ❤

5. BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT?

There’s a few I could put here but I didn’t love this story. It was too short and I had a hard time connecting.

6. BIGGEST SURPRISE?

This was an audiobook I picked up on a whim when I was crazily painting my whole house. It was such a fantastic read and I highly recommend it to everyone!

7. FAVORITE NEW AUTHOR (DEBUT OR NEW TO YOU)?

These are such a good time. I buddy read this and we immediately had to jump into book two. Such a crazy story but worth it!

8. NEWEST FICTIONAL CRUSH?

Charlie Lastra! Love him so much and definitely love how he’s a bookworm too.

9. NEWEST FAVORITE CHARACTER?

I really enjoyed Veronica and I cannot wait to get back to this series!

10. BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY?

Such a heart wrenching story but so beautiful.

11. BOOK THAT MADE YOU HAPPY?

THIS BOOK IS AMAZING!!! So much happy!

12. MOST BEAUTIFUL BOOK YOU’VE BOUGHT THIS YEAR?

This is so beautiful and it’s just as beautiful on the inside!!!

13. WHAT BOOKS DO YOU NEED TO READ BY THE END OF THE YEAR?

I have so many that I want to put here but I’m going to go with some of the bigger ones I want to finish. I absolutely need to finish these so I can keep doing at least one a year.

I love this tag and I can’t wait to start seeing everyone else’s posts!!

  8. Ahhh, I can’t believe it’s time for this tag already! You’ve read some excellent sounding books, so far, Leslie 😊 I keep seeing Legends & Lattes everywhere and, every time, I want to read it more. Time to add another book to the TBR 😂

    • I know, right?! It went so fast. I have.. it’s been a great reading year, so far!! YES- definitely read Legend and Lattes!! It’s such a wonderful book that will make you so happy. ❤

  9. I love this tag! It’s so fun. I have mine on my drafts but I haven’t finished it yet. 🙈 Some of these questions are hard! 😂
    Can’t wait to read The Traitor Queen! The Hunger of the Gods was so good! I’m obsessed with the Bloodsworn Saga.

    • Thank you! haha.. no worries bc technically there’s still a few more days before it’s “half” over anyways!! Omg, Gwynne’s Bloodsworn saga is amazing. I cannot wait for book three bc book two shattered me!! haha.

    The girl who fell beneath the sea has A STUNNING cover, cant wait to read it!

    • It’s so good!!! Beach Read is STILL my favorite by hers but the rest are still SO good!!! I hope you enjoy The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea when you get to it. I loved it so much!!! 🙂

  12. Covid sucks! It IS crazy how it effects everyone differently. I was only bad sick in the bed for about 24 hours, but I had fatigue and brain fog off and on for about a month. I hope you’re all feeling 100% soon! I just requested to read The Winners. Fingers crossed I get approved. 😃 Love Charlie Lastra, and The Girl Who Fell Beneath the Sea is stunning!

    • Right!? It’s insane. Some people have a cough for a day and then fine. Ugh. I can’t kick this congestion and cough. I’m hoping it’s almost over bc I’m sick of it!!! lol. My kid is 100% though and that makes me so happy. Yay, I hope you get it!!!! ❤

  14. I loved reading your answers, Leslie! I’ve seen so many people mentioning this John Gwynne book as their favourite of the year and wow, I really need to catch up on that series, huh?! 😂 I can’t wait to read it (and to continue his debut series with you at some point this year)! Legends & Lattes also made me SO happy and even now, months after reading it, I think about it and it gives me the warm fuzzies. I hope you continue to have an amazing year of reading, friend! 💜

    • YES! Omg.. yes! We need to pick up the second book in the Malice series. I feel like I’ve been SO terrible at reading this summer. I’m barely getting by with my arcs! Sigh. Hopefully, I can get out of this funk soon!! Thank you, I hope you have a great second half too, friend!! ❤
