W.W.W. 11/16/22

This is a weekly meme hosted by, Taking on a World of Words. It’s where we talk about the Three W’s:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you will read next?

Wow, it’s been about a month since I’ve done one of these. We have been busy but we were plagued with sickness for a few weeks. No covid, thank goodness.. just your normal sinus infections, ear infections, colds. ya know.. the good ol’ stuff. haha. We are finally better but I’m nervous about all the holiday festivities and getting out unscathed! lol. I’ve finally managed to finish some books and I’m so excited about that! This is going to be a loooong one to catch up on the last couple weeks.

I’m currently listening to this audiobook and it’s intense! Almost finished.

I’m about 150 pages into this one and I’m kind of liking it more than book one. Although, the love triangle might KILL me. sigh. lol

I am about 18% into this one. It’s been interesting so far but have had to pause a couple of times for buddy reads. I’m so late on this one but hoping to finish it this weekend!!

I finished this one last weekend, finally. OMG what a great book!!

Rating: 4 out of 5.

This was such an amazing buddy read!! I rather enjoyed doing it the way we did. It was different type of book for me but I loved all our discussions from it.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I FINALLY finished this one. I struggled with this a bit and might be why it took me so long to finish it. I’m so sad to say that!

Rating: 3 out of 5.

I buddy read this one with Dini. I was a little ahead since I was so behind to start the arc for book two. I had such insane expectations and the love triangle drove me insane. 😦

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

I buddy read this last week with Dini and Julie. We all really liked it for the most part. A fun witchy book.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

I need to read this for my PopSugar Challenge and BoTM challenge!

I have needed to read this for a while. I’m trying to catch up with my overdue arcs. I have not requested an arc in TWO MONTHS!! I am SO PROUD. haha. I won’t even look anymore.

What are you reading this week?? Leave your links below and I’ll check them out!!

Stay safe and healthy! Happy Reading!

  1. I loved the writing and mythology so much in Daughter of the Moon Goddess (and so far in its sequel) that I forgave it for the love triangle. Lol. I do agree that the second book is better so far, but I was a bit annoyed that the triangle popped back up so quickly despite the massive betrayal in the first book. I’d have left him sitting on that balcony forever. 😆

    • Yes! The mythology and writing were great. I just really, really hate love triangles. This one didn’t even feel powerful enough for me that the betrayal was ..meh… haha. I know!!! What on earth!! It was right away and he should have been left on that balcony forever. haha

  2. RIP the love triangle 🥀 I really hated that the romance was such a prominent thing in that book cos I definitely would’ve enjoyed it more otherwise! I’m glad we finally read it though and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the second book cos it’ll determine whether I continue with the series or not (no pressure, haha)! 😂 I hope you enjoy your reads, Leslie! 💜

    • Haha, it’s terrible. I totally agree and I’m scared it’s going to be the same in book two. I haven’t picked it up since yesterday morning. I ended up watching Where the Crawdad’s Sing on Netflix today. haha. I’ll let you know as soon as I finish the book!! ❤

  3. Glad you’re feeling better! there are so many things going around now, even without Covid, seems like! Daughter of the Moon/ Sun Warrior sounds fun but yes I am not a fan of the dreaded love triangle!!!

    • Thank you! It’s been a rough patch but I think my little one starting pre-k this year hasn’t helped. He’s always bringing everything home. lol. I know, the love triangle in this is KILLING me!!!

  4. Great post!

I’m currently reading the last book in The Summer I Turned Pretty series.

I haven’t read any of the books you mentioned, but I have heard good things about Razorblade Tears. Glad to hear Babel was a good read, definitely a book I want to check out.

  5. Hi, Leslie! You quit showing up in my reader for some reason, but it says I’m still following your blog. Some quirk in WP, I guess. I need to read Wolfsong – love everything I’ve read by Klune, and had the pleasure of meeting him last weekend at Yallfest. Such a nice guy.

    • Hi, Teri! It could be that I’ve been MIA for a few weeks! It could be that WP is being weird too! Wow, that’s so awesome! So jealous that you got to meet Klune. Wolfsong is really good but intense!!
