Spell the Month in Books: November!

I saw this over on One Book More and thought it would be a fun monthly post! I have tagged her post so you can check it out too! It was originally created by Reviews from the Stacks, and the idea is to spell the month using the first letter of book titles.

I’m just going to add a tidbit from the synopsis and whether I’ve read it or want to. I’ll link the Goodreads link on the title if you want to check it out more!

I just realized that the rest of the year are such long months when it comes to letters! haha.

N- Nettle & Bone by T. Kingfisher

“After years of seeing her sisters suffer at the hands of an abusive prince, Marra—the shy, convent-raised, third-born daughter—has finally realized that no one is coming to their rescue. No one, except for Marra herself.”

I am so excited to read this but need to find the time! haha

O- Only A Monster by Vanessa Len

“It should have been the perfect summer. Sent to stay with her late mother’s eccentric family in London, sixteen-year-old Joan is determined to enjoy herself. She loves her nerdy job at the historic Holland House, and when her super cute co-worker Nick asks her on a date, it feels like everything is falling into place.”

I still need to read this one too. Sheesh! haha- Hopefully, soon!

V- Valor by John Gwynne

“The Banished Lands is torn by war as High King Nathair sweeps the land challenging all who oppose him in his holy crusade. Allied with the manipulative Queen Rhin of Cambren, there are few who can stand against them. But Rhin is playing her own games and has her eyes on a far greater prize…”

I am so excited to get to this. I know that Dini and I plan on it soon!!

E- Everything’s Fine, Emmaline by Christina Hovland

“Emmaline Eaton might be starting over, but she has it all together…sorta, in the next laugh-out-loud installment in the Mommy Wars series from USA Today bestselling author Christina Hovland.”

I saw this one a fellow blogger’s page and it sounds so good. I didn’t realize it was a series but going to check it out!!

M- Mistakes Were Made by Meryl Wilsner

“From the critically acclaimed author of Something To Talk About comes a sharp and sexy rom-com about a college senior who accidentally hooks up with her best friend’s mom.”

This was a fun one and FULL of steam!

B- Babel by R.F. Kuang

“Oxford, the city of dreaming spires, is a fairytale for Robin; a utopia dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge. But knowledge serves power, and for Robin, a Chinese boy raised in Britain, serving Babel inevitably means betraying his motherland. As his studies progress Robin finds himself caught between Babel and the shadowy Hermes Society, an organization dedicated to sabotaging the silver-working that supports imperial expansion. When Britain pursues an unjust war with China over silver and opium, Robin must decide: Can powerful institutions be changed from within, or does revolution always require violence? What is he willing to sacrifice to bring Babel down?”

This was an amazing buddy read for the discussion!!

E- Every Summer After by Carley Fortune

“They say you can never go home again, and for Persephone Fraser, ever since she made the biggest mistake of her life a decade ago, that has felt too true. Instead of glittering summers on the lakeshore of her childhood, she spends them in a stylish apartment in the city, going out with friends, and keeping everyone a safe distance from her heart.”

I still reallyyyyy want to read this!!!

R- Razorblade Tears by S. A. Cosby

“A Black father. A white father. Two murdered sons. A quest for vengeance.

Ike Randolph has been out of jail for fifteen years, with not so much as a speeding ticket in all that time. But a Black man with cops at the door knows to be afraid.”

I feel like this is going to be intense but I am picking it up next week!!
